About Me

I am a healthcare leader, entrepreneur, and advocate with over 14 years of experience shaping systems of care across Africa and beyond. Recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 Africa Winner (2025), my journey has always been driven by a passion for innovation, equality and creating lasting impact in people’s lives.

I served as the CEO of White Oak Medical Centre in Nairobi, leading it to become a model for efficient, patient-centered care. Before that, I founded Elective International, a global health exchange program that placed more than 10,000 medical students in six countries, bridging cultures and strengthening healthcare capacity. I also created the Jikinge Mobile App, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, to empower Kenyan youth with HIV/AIDS education and reduce stigma through digital health.

Beyond healthcare facilities and digital innovation, I am deeply committed to community-driven impact—from organizing health camps, food drives, and cancer fundraisers to commissioning boreholes for rural communities and supporting education for underserved children.

With academic training in Health Service Administration (Florida International University) and Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Loma Linda University), I combine clinical expertise with strategic leadership. I am also continually advancing my knowledge in humanitarian leadership and nonprofit management, reflecting my commitment to lifelong learning and global service.

My vision is to help transform health and social systems to become more accessible, inclusive, and empowering—particularly for women and marginalized communities—while fostering leadership that delivers sustainable global impact.

Beyond my professional journey, I am a wife to a wonderful husband and a mother to two young children, who inspire my drive to create a more equitable future for the next generation.

At Bomu Hospital, I provided diagnostic sonography services across multiple specialties, including emergency and on-call duties. I played an active role in training maternity nurses on FAST scanning, supporting the hospital’s capacity-building initiatives, and contributed to quality control processes to improve diagnostic accuracy. I also supported the hospital’s outreach and marketing for its satellite clinics, helping expand access to imaging services.

I founded and directed Elective International, an international medical internship and volunteer program designed to provide hands-on global health exposure in developing countries. I established formal Memoranda of Understanding with hospitals, universities, and NGOs across India, Kenya, Tanzania, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Nepal, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable program delivery. The programs were formally recognized and approved by students’ home universities as part of their clinical training and graduation requirements. During my tenure, I successfully placed over 5,000 international medical students in accredited clinical settings, while engaging Ministries of Health and Education to strengthen credibility and partnerships. Jikinge Mobile App – Kenya

With support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, I created and directed the Jikinge Mobile App, a digital health platform designed to educate users on HIV prevention and reduce stigma in Kenya. I led the end-to-end project lifecycle, including planning, development, vendor coordination, and evaluation, ensuring technical soundness and public health alignment. The app successfully reached over 1,000 users in its initial phase and provided a confidential space for anonymous health inquiries. I also recruited pro bono doctors to consult with users and provide accurate medical guidance, while collaborating with NGOs and stakeholders to align the platform with national HIV prevention priorities.

I was tasked by the directors to operationalize the newly established Plasma Medical Centre, managing all aspects of administration and clinical services. Within six months, I helped the centre achieve profitability while steadily adding new services and consultants. My responsibilities included financial oversight, HR, staffing, inventory, vendor relations, and patient service management. Alongside administration, I performed ultrasound examinations and ensured high diagnostic standards.
